THIRD INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MARINE ENERGY
Bilbao, 2 April 2009
The
development of renewable energy sources, together with
energy saving and security of supply, are basic pillars of
any balanced energy policy, particularly at a time when
diversification of sources of supply and environmental
protection are becoming increasingly important in ensuring
sustainable energy in the future..
The meetings to be held by the members of the International
Energy Agency IEA-OES in Bilbao on 30 and 31 March and 1
April 2009 will provide an ideal backdrop for the Third
International Symposium on Marine Energy organised by the
Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE) and Tecnalia Corporación
Tenológica. This seminar will examine the latest advances in
devices for harnessing ocean energy (waves, currents, etc.)
and discuss other non-technological aspects that are also
essential for the development and introduction of this new
source into the general power supply system.
